Stanmore Addition
Stanmore Addition In Progress
This addition to an existing 1890’s terrace house is for a young couple with a small child. To increase the living space size, several walls are demolished within the existing structure. To preserve the charm of the existing structure, an emphasis has been made to retain the existing decorative features whilst bronzed floor plates cover where the existing walls once stood. The addition is celebrated with an internal garden and double height glazed atrium space that lights the central space. A large linear kitchen and built in dining space maximises the full width of the narrow site. The lower level concludes with a small breakfast balcony, viewing out over a native garden. The upper level has a recessed study nook adjacent to the central void. The new bathroom is located off the internal garden to gain access to natural light and air circulation. The rear bedroom is celebrated with a small crafted window box designed specifically for the couples’ young child.

Tempo, Drummoyne (Fender Katsalidis)
Tempo, Drummoyne (FK) Completed: 2018
I was the project architect of Tempo, working for Fender Katsalidis. The project consists of 164 residential apartments, 9 commercial suites and 4 restaurant tenancies over two levels of basement. Located on the crest of a hill along Victoria Road, its elevated position offers views of the city, harbour and near by Iron Cove. The name originates from the folding precast concrete façade that acts as a buffer between Victoria Road and the wintergardens. These inclined planes are repeated in and around the building, creating a sense of rhythm as you move past it
Stanmore Addition 2
Stanmore Addition 2. In Progress
This project calls for a reconfiguration of the the rear kitchen and dining area with new accommodation on the level above. The addition is designed to open up the existing rear portion dwelling and accommodate an open stair to one side on the room. The new addition on the level above has been shaped with hip roof, portioning the height of the space towards the centre of the site and help minimise height and bulk along the neighbouring boundaries The front elevation seeks to minimise the additions intrusion upon the streets heritage character.
Stanmore Roof Addition
Stanmore Roof Addition. In Progress
This project utilises the high pitch of an existing terrace roof for a new flexible space. The addition is designed to accommodate multiple uses to compliment the existing dwelling below. Coupled with substantial storage, It can operate as a small study, play space, spare bedroom or yoga space. The elevated position offers district views and by placing windows to both sides of the space we can encourage cross ventilation. A simple material palate of zinc cladding, oak floors and walls and joinery coloured royal blue is used.

The space is celebrated with high raking ceilings capturing northern light and a large deck opening up into the tree canopy behind. When the couple set off for adventures, their myriad of vehicles are readily accessible at the front of the house, however their treasured Harley Davidson's are given pride of place featured on a chequered tiled memorabilia area adjacent to the study on the lower ground floor.
